We believe that dance is the ideal format for storytelling and strive to deliver powerful dance narratives that resonate with people of all ages, backgrounds and walks of life. We use a blend of dance, drama, and multimedia to create immersive storytelling experiences for the audience. JPDG truly believes that dance moves everyone.

JP Dance Group Provides:

  • Educational programming including Lecture/Demonstrations, Workshops, and Arts-In-Education presentations for school-age children and teens
  • Live dance productions for traditional theaters as well as non-traditional and site specific venues

Triple threat Austin Pendleton & Julie Atlas Muz, named New Yorker of the Year by The New York Times, star with OBIE winner Meg MacCary, George Olesky, Maria Fontanals & Vania Mendez in this play about broken-hearted hipsters navigating through NYC in the Seventies. Directed by Marina McClure and featuring Video Projection Design by JP Dance Group’s, Julie Petrusak.

2018 BRIC Media Arts Fellowship Awarded to Artistic Director Julie Petrusak

Each year, BRIC’s Contemporary Art and Media Education programs sponsor the BRIC Media Arts Fellowship. The Fellowship makes BRIC’s Media Education courses and facilities available at no charge to professional Brooklyn-affiliated visual artists. We provide classes and technical assistance in video and digital production and in post production technologies. Twelve fellowships are awarded annually. We are proud to announce that JP Dance Group’s Artistic Director was chosen to be a fellow for the 2018 Program year.


Oulu Dance Hack 2017

Our Director recently participated in the Oulu Dance Hack 2017. During this collaborative program put on by Taikabox and Oulu University of Applied Sciences (OMAK), invited artists from around the world worked with OMAK students, combining dance and technology in performance.

The Collaborations in Dance Festival is a celebration of movement-based performance developed through striking collaboration with artists working in other media including film, sound, costuming, visual art, and more. JP Dance Group will present, Nocnica, a solo that combines dance and live-feed video projection creating a modern twist on an ancient folklore story. JPDG dancer Erke Roosen will perform.
